Champions In The Classroom

Student-athletes at the University of Tennessee strive to be champions not only in their sports, but in the classroom as well.  We take pride in celebrating the academic excellence of our student-athletes through several recognition programs and prestigious award nominations on the university, conference, and national levels.  Information regarding these programs as well as Graduation Success Rates (GSR) can be accessed to the right, under “Important Links”.   Statistics on recent award winners and Tennessee’s collective academic performances are listed below.

 

How Do Student-Athletes At Tennessee Perform Academically?

Fall 2014 Academic Review

3.00 overall student-athlete GPA

10 of 16 sports earned team GPAs of 3.00 or higher

19 student-athletes earned a 4.00 GPA

116 student-athletes were recognized on their respective Dean’s List

255 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Six teams (Men’s Golf, Men’s Tennis, Women’s Cross Country, Rowing, Softball, and Women’s
Tennis)
earned perfect 100% Graduation Success Rates at the end of the Fall 2014 term.

Spring 2014 Academic Review

3.03 overall student-athlete GPA

12 sports earned team GPAs of 3.00 or higher

114 student-athletes were recognized on their respective Dean’s List

253 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Three teams (Women’s Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball) earned perfect 100% Graduation Success Rates at the end of the 2013-2014 academic year.
